Kate McKinnon wins the Comedy Star of the Year Award at the 2018 CinemaCon
Thank you. Well, that’s an uncomfortable shoe. Damn! What a horrible thing to have to wear. This is surreal – to be in a room with all these people. It’s also surreal because last night my hotel room was directly opposite what I was told was the after party for the Latin Grammys and I have not slept in – I wanna say – 27 hours. So I think that means I’m legally psychotic. Thank you, Lionsgate, for this incredible opportunity. I’m really proud of “The Spy Who Dumped Me” and I really can’t wait for people to see it. They say that if you are awake for longer than 18 hours is the equivalent of having a blood alcohol level of 0.1 – which is quite high. I also wanna thank the National Association of Theater Owners – the good NATO – for this honor and for the work that you do. You know, whoever made that first clip of film in the year 18-whatever, which I believe was of a guy going like this. That was a smart man. I’m guessing it was a man – I don’t know. But then, whoever said ‘I’m gonna rent out a big room, I’m gonna invite people to come watch that guy going like this’ and then charge. And I’m gonna offer Mike and Ikes but they’re gonna be so expensive. That was a visionary. That’s genius. So, thank you all. Thank you for your vision and for helping us to watch movies in the way that nature intended. Thank you so much.
