The show follows Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. Once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into NATURE CAT, “backyard explorer extraordinaire!” Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of backyard nature excursions and bravery, but there’s one problem: he’s still a house cat with no instincts for nature! With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.”

Nature Cat is aimed at 3 to 8 year olds and devised to reconnect children with the natural world; making engaging, age-appropriate nature education a sustaining and enriching part of their daily lives. Viewers will learn that to start, they just need to open the door, step outside and prime their senses.

Each episode is made up of two 11-minute animated stories. In between the 11-minute stories, viewers will be treated to an animated music video. Following the animated stories there will be two 30-second, live-action segments that will highlight nearby nature.
